Discover the most popular spring break destinations.

The phrase that denotes fun in the sun for every collegiate is “spring break”. Each one of us has some memories of our own about the spring breaks we’ve been on. Every year, hundreds of students combat the winter blues by planning for the annual spring break. Everyone makes plans on where they want to go and what they want to do. “You are young only once” becomes the slogan of the season. There is a flurry of activity with bookings to be done and bags to be packed.

Nowadays, the most popular spring break destinations are Daytona Beach, Florida and Cancun, Mexico. Some, who can afford it, even choose the Caribbean islands. But owing to the limited number of days available most prefer to stay closer to home. Travel agencies, airlines and hotels all vie with each other to lure the most students their way. Of course it all depends on what you call fun and where you want to go to have that fun. Originally meant as a means of recharging one’s enthusiasm for college activities after a dreary winter, spring break today has become one long stint of drinking, screaming and flirting. But there other ways too of making sure you have an enjoyable holiday. Going camping with friends is one great way of bonding and chilling out in an inexpensive manner.

There are a few other things you need to keep in mind when going away on your spring break trip. Always be with your group and see that your friends do the same. It is not a good idea to be alone in a strange place. Take care when in the water. Make sure none of you stray far into the ocean, whether you know swimming or not. When in the hotel make sure you don’t leave any valuables lying around. Either take them to the reception for safe-keeping or if you have a safe in your room, leave them in it and make sure you take the key!!
